Removals to Madrid from the UK

UK to Spain removals, door to door

Madrid sits on the main route south, so it’s one of the quicker mainland deliveries we arrange — dedicated vans typically arrive in 2–3 days. Part loads run to the capital weekly from around £1,000 for 5m³.

Madrid moves differ from the costas: they’re overwhelmingly work relocations into apartments, not retirements into villas. That changes the practicalities more than people expect.

Where we deliver in Madrid

The city and the surrounding communities: Centro, Salamanca, Chamberí, Chamartín, Retiro, Arganzuela and the rest of the city districts, plus Pozuelo, Majadahonda, Las Rozas, Boadilla, Alcobendas, San Sebastián de los Reyes and the Henares corridor towns.

Apartment access — the thing to sort in advance

Most Madrid deliveries are into flats, and three things routinely catch people out:

  • Narrow historic streets in Centro, La Latina and Malasaña, where a full-size lorry cannot stop legally. The load transfers to a smaller vehicle.
  • Small or no lifts. Older buildings often have a lift too small for a sofa or wardrobe, so furniture goes up the stairwell — or occasionally by external lift, which needs booking.
  • Loading restrictions. Central districts have controlled-access zones and limited loading windows. Deliveries are scheduled around them.

Tell us the floor, whether there’s a lift, and roughly how wide the street is when you request a quote. Those three answers make the difference between a firm price and a revised one.

What it costs

Standard corridor rates: around £1,000–£1,400 for a 5–10m³ part load and £3,500–£6,500 for a three-bed household, door to door. Full 2026 price guide →

Madrid’s variable is almost always the carry — floors, lifts and street access — rather than distance.

The route and how long it takes

Vans cross at Portsmouth–Santander, which lands in northern Spain and gives a straight run south on the A-1, or via Dover–Calais and down through France. Dedicated vehicles typically arrive in 2–3 days, the fastest mainland timing we quote. Shared part loads run 3 days to 2 weeks.

What people move here

Flat contents rather than houses: a bed, a sofa, a desk, kitchen equipment and books. Work relocations often move less than they expect, because Madrid rentals are frequently part-furnished — which makes this a strong part load → route rather than a dedicated-van one.

Frequently asked questions

How much are removals to Madrid? Around £1,000–£1,400 for a 5–10m³ part load; £3,500–£6,500 for a three-bed household (2026 guide prices).

How long does it take? 2–3 days on a dedicated vehicle — Madrid is one of the quicker mainland runs. Shared part loads take 3 days to 2 weeks.

My flat has no lift. Is that a problem? No, but say so before the quote. Stairwell carries add crew time, and that needs to be in the price rather than discovered on the day.

Can the lorry park on my street? In the older central districts, often not. A smaller shuttle vehicle handles the final leg, and deliveries are timed around loading restrictions.

Do you cover Pozuelo, Las Rozas and the outer towns? Yes — the whole Comunidad de Madrid.

Is a part load enough for a flat move? Usually. Most Madrid relocations are under 15m³, which is part-load territory.
