Moving to the Costa del Sol is the most popular Spanish move we arrange, and the best-served route on the corridor. Vans run to Málaga province year-round — part loads share the journey from around £1,000 for 5m³, and full households travel on dedicated vehicles in 2–4 days door to door.
Where we deliver on the Costa del Sol
Everywhere between Nerja and Sotogrande: Málaga city and its suburbs, Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Mijas — village and Costa — La Cala, Calahonda, and inland to Coín, Alhaurín and the Guadalhorce valley. Marbella and its urbanisations have their own page →.
Two access details worth mentioning when you book, because they change the price if they’re discovered on the day rather than at survey:
- Gated urbanisations are routine here. Give us the urbanisation name and we’ll confirm vehicle access and any security booking-in the community requires.
- Old-town streets — Málaga’s historic centre, Mijas pueblo, the older parts of Estepona — sometimes need a smaller shuttle vehicle from where the lorry can legally stop. That’s priced upfront, never sprung on you.
What it costs
Typical market rates apply: around £1,000–£1,400 for a 5–10m³ part load, and £3,500–£6,500 for a three-bed household, door to door. On this coast, access is usually the bigger variable — stairs to a first-floor apartment, long carries from a communal car park, or a shuttle for a narrow street. Full 2026 price guide →
The route and how long it takes
Dedicated vans cross by ferry from Portsmouth to Santander, or via Dover–Calais and down through France, then run the A-45 into Málaga province. Typical door-to-door time is 2–4 days. Shared part loads follow the departure schedule: 3 days to 2 weeks, depending on how many drops are on the run.
September is the busiest month on this route by a wide margin — families moving before the Spanish school year. Book 6–8 weeks ahead for peak dates.
Part loads to the Costa del Sol
Because this is the corridor’s busiest destination, part-load space to Málaga province comes up more often than anywhere else in Spain. That’s good news for smaller moves and for second-home owners furnishing an apartment: a sofa, a bed, a table and a dozen boxes of kitchenware travel for a few hundred pounds rather than the cost of buying it all again locally. What people move here
The mix skews to full households rather than single items — retirements from the UK, families relocating for a school year, and second-home furnishings for the golf urbanisations inland of Marbella and Mijas. Terrace and garden furniture travels more often on this coast than anywhere else we serve, for obvious reasons.

Frequently asked questions
How much are removals to the Costa del Sol? Around £1,000–£1,400 for a 5–10m³ part load and £3,500–£6,500 for a three-bed household, door to door (2026 guide prices).
How long does a removal to Málaga take? 2–4 days on a dedicated van; 3 days to 2 weeks on a shared part load.

What if the lorry can’t reach my street? A smaller shuttle vehicle is used for old-town and narrow streets. It’s quoted at survey rather than added on the day.
Do you cover Nerja and Estepona as well as Málaga? Yes — the whole coast from Nerja in the east to Sotogrande in the west, plus the inland villages.
Is September really busier? Yes, noticeably. It’s the corridor’s peak month; allow six to eight weeks’ notice for September dates.
