Frequently Asked Questions

Everything people ask before booking a UK–Spain move

The questions we answer every day — what it costs, how long it takes, customs and ToR1, the islands, moving back, and how the service works. Can't find yours? Ask us directly and a real person will answer.

How much are removals from the UK to Spain?

From ~£500 for a small part load, ~£1,000–£1,400 for 5–10m³, and £3,500–£6,500 for a typical three-bed house (2026 guide prices). Dedicated vans run £2,300–£3,300. Volume, access and dates set the final price.

How long does a removal to Spain take?

Dedicated vans: 2–4 days door to door. Shared part loads: typically 3 days to 2 weeks, depending on the departure schedule.

Do you do part loads?

Yes — part loads are the corridor's best-value option. You share vehicle space and pay only for the cubic metres you use.

Can you collect from anywhere in the UK?

Collection can be arranged across the UK; London and the South East have the most frequent departures.

Do you cover the Balearics and Canary Islands?

Yes — Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Tenerife, Gran Canaria and the other islands, with the ferry leg and island surcharge quoted upfront per move.

Is my move insured?

Moves are covered by goods-in-transit insurance arranged by your removals specialist — cover level confirmed on your quote before you book.

What is a backload and why is it cheaper?

A backload is discounted space on a removal van returning to the UK after an outbound delivery to Spain. Same vehicle and crew, lower price — in exchange for flexible dates. It is the single best saving on Spain-to-UK moves.

Do I pay import duty when moving back to the UK?

Not if you qualify for HMRC's Transfer of Residence (ToR1) relief — personal belongings you've owned and used move duty-free and VAT-free when you transfer your residence to the UK. Apply online before the move; our ToR1 guide walks through it.

Is September really the busiest month?

Yes — September is the corridor's peak, with searches and bookings running 2–4× normal levels. Book 6–8 weeks ahead for September dates, or move either side of it for better prices.

What paperwork does a move to Spain need after Brexit?

Your goods travel under a CMR consignment note with a customs inventory. Household effects moving with a change of residence typically qualify for duty relief in Spain — your remover handles the transit paperwork.

How do I pay?

You pay your removals specialist directly — the price is confirmed in your quote before anything is collected. No payment is taken on this website.

Do you move motorbikes?

Yes — motorbike transport to Spain is arranged as a specialist service, crated or strapped, door to door.

Can you store my things if my dates don't line up?

Storage can be arranged at either end of the move — tick the storage box on the quote form and we'll include it in the match.

Who actually carries out my removal?

UK to Spain Removals is an enquiry and introduction service — removals are carried out by independent removal companies. We match your enquiry to a specialist who genuinely runs your route, and you deal with them directly from quote to delivery.
